Nonage Sample: Lito

This is a sample for the nonage project. None of the colors are final but this gives a sense of what the book will look like.

This is my [JJ's] uncle and here he is posing in all his might. Behind him are family portraits. My take on these potraits are to show who the person is through the photograph.

The accompanying short story is what he wrote and I just copied it verbatim.

If you are interested in designing the pages, drop me an email. You will be accredited in the book for sure.

I also checked how to distribute the book and found out that it's $29.95 for 10 ISBNs and then another $249.99 to process the request. This is quite a lot haha

But if once I go through with this, I'm going all out and plan to distribute it through Amazon and Barnes and Nobles. I will also hit Haight St. in San Francisco for potential distributors.

SO! I need all the help I can so these can start selling and start helping [St. Jude Children's Research Hospital]

Nonage Brochures Available!

Be on the lookout for the nonage brochures. Many will be passed out in Daly City and San Francisco to raise awareness of the project.

Even if you don't receive one, please email illusography@gmail.com or jcasas.photography@gmail if you wish to be part of the project or would like more information.

As a reminder, the nonage photo project will be a collection of people, their portraits [by JJ Casas of jC Photography], and their childhood memories.

Once published, the book will donate proceeds to St. Jude Children's Research Center.

Thanks!

jC Photography + Gap Product (RED)

GAP has accepted one of my images for their GAP home ad contest to promote their Product (RED) products for AIDS awareness.

OK. I'm just joking.

But over the weekend, my cousin and his girlfriend (who has the Product (RED) shirts) agreed to model and follow GAP's ad campaign.
More will be posted up on myspace.com/jcasasphotography and jcasasphotography.com

Capita' City Shoe Event Update

For the third time this season, Nordstrom has hired Capita' City to customize shoes. So far all the events have been successful in terms of business, publicity, and customer relationships. Word of mouth has spread through San Mateo and Capita' City has definately made its mark. How we struck a deal with Nordstrom, you ask? (well keep that a secret). Since Capita' City's live demo events come from time to time, it may be hard to catch us, but if any customers still want shoes customized, your more then welcome to visit the BP shoes (Hillsdale Mall) department and ask. *orders will be fowarded.

Illusography Hits Myspace!

For those of you who don't already know, illusography was first intended to be a myspace based site. However after countless "brain farts" and "verbal vomits" we decided to move on to other mediums of promoting ourselves and that's how this blog was created. But don't count us out of the myspace hype just yet... I (Apol) was recently inspired by these "tricked out" myspaces that looked like websites rather than having the traditional layouts and decided to "HOOK ILLUSOGRAPHY UP" with a tricked out myspace of its own. So come and check out the fruit of my labor, add us and drop us a line if you'd like: www.myspace.com/illusography

Project Kimi: Photoshoot

Today, I had a photoshoot with my friend Kimiko from USF. She needed photos for her portfolio as she is a dancer at USF. It was also a good way for me to play with lighting and posing and all that good stuff.

Anywhoo, Apol came out and offered help. He assisted in lighting as well as posing--he gave Kimi a "finger-in-the-mouth-look-innocent" look and Kimi did it hahah... I must say tho, Kimi is a pure natural when it comes to posing. After reviewing the 212 pictures, we saved 64 that we liked.. it's hard for her to choose ONE pic to print an 8x10! haha So instead, we're printing all 64 pictures in 4x6 as proofs! We took pics both inside the studio and out doors in a nearby lot.

Afterwards, I treated them out to In-n-Out and now we're playing Wii Bowling at my house. Photographers and models do need to play something. hahah
